AMFS - Day 6-7

Sorry I missed a day! I had homeschool co-op and then I worked on a report for almost the whole afternoon, and then I went to writing club.  And then, after we had gone out to look at the stars, I dashed inside to take my pictures and the camera died on me.  Many apologies, but here was my outfit for yesterday.

I love my peasant outfit!

∞ The Specifics ∞
Shirt: Decree / JCPenney
Skirt: Merona / Target
Necklace: Landstrom's, Black Hills gold / South Dakota somewhere

And now for Day 7!

Today, we went to the Science Museum to see the Dead Sea Scrolls exhibit.  It was amazing to see a piece of God's history from 2,000 years ago.  It was also fun to be surrounded with people who also found it amazing.  If you ever come to visit my state, visit the Science Museum.  It's fun for all ages.

Oh, and they have these staircases with steps that each make a different note when you step on them.  They were fun - and good for physical activity.  Cause if you want to make a song, you have to run up and down a lot.  And the banisters were perfect for sliding down.  I've never slid down a banister before, but these were too tempting.  Ooh, it was so fun.
Just thought I'd let you know...

Oh, and this was not the outfit I wore there today because its like 80 degrees here! We are having Indian Summer, and usually I enjoy it, but not this year.  It's just not right to have hot weather paired with leaves falling off trees.  I was sweltering in this jacket and scarf.  But you can pretend otherwise.

∞ The Specifics ∞

Jacket: Sonora / JCPenney or Kohls
Shirt: Mossimo / Target
Scarf: Gift
Hoop earrings: Claires / Gift
Jeans: Mossimo / Target (I love Target, okay? By the way, these are the jeans I wrote about in "Because He Cares..."

∞ Fashion Tip of the Day (combined with a quote) ∞

"Who's to say what is "proper"? What if it was agreed that "proper" was wearing a codfish on your head? Would you wear it?" - Alice Kingsley, Alice in Wonderland '10

Don't go along with the flow.  Wear what is comfortable to you: as long as it honors the Lord.  Even though gauchos are out of style, if you like gauchos, wear them! Don't get hung up on how different you look from everybody else.  That bottles up your personality.  Instead, concentrate on making others feel special and you'll be the prettiest one in the room.  (Not that that's...er....anything to strive for...)

∞ Modesty quote of the Day ∞

"Always remember that when you are on top of the world, that the earth rotates every 24 hours."
- Steve G. Makris

^ Thought this was too funny to pass up.  Remember that everything you have comes from God - he gives and he taketh away.  Praise him through all of it.

  ∞ Thank You ∞

Marie, thanks so much for hosting this event.  I had a blast, and I think this is great way to spread the news that modesty is fun! May God smile upon you and bless you :)

So two last words, not just for Marie, but for all of you -

YOU ROCK, EXACTLY THE WAY YOU ARE!

Love, Ellyn
